Initial sketches

After initial discussion about the theme, I created a sketch that included 15 icon designs, featuring some “iconic” classic horror film characters. Following clients feedback, I added sports accessories, which finalised the sketch stage, and I was ready to proceed to the vectorisation stage.

Color Palette

Because I was lucky enough to be granted complete freedom by my client, I decided on a cheerful and slightly matte color palette. I focused on establishing a base colors and created corresponding light and dark alternatives.

Featuring Iconic Characters

During initial talks the client hinted that they would love to include some spooky characters in this icon set. I couldn’t miss this opportunity, so I reached for some old-school classics such as Count Dracula, Frankenstein, Red Riding Hood, and more.

Format requirements

Finally, with the icons ready to go, I created rasterized versions for tiny 24×24 px sizes, ensuring that everything looks good within the app.
