Why practice beats talent

I don’t know anyone that is browsing through Behance or Dribbble on a daily basis and doesn’t envy a bit, successful artists. What I could do and how my life would be different If I had such talent!

Do you think it takes talent to hold a pencil for ten hours? Do you think it takes talent to wake up early and practice? Talent it’s just a small seed, it will dry and die if you don’t take care of it. You need to feed it daily with patience, time and stubbornness to make it grow into something big and meaningful.

Yes, it took talent to imagine it but it took a lot of physical work to create it. Talent is like an idea, it’s worth a dollar until you pick it up and create something with it. It’s the creation that makes talent real.

I have talent but I can’t draw

Can you Imagine that two years ago I felt fear when I was supposed to draw something? I didn’t draw well, I had an idea in my head but I was unable to make it happened. Which is weird to say the least since I’m a graphic designer, right? And it took as little as few hand drawn icons a day to make the change.
