I often get asked: how to change colors of the icons if you don’t have access to specialized software like Photoshop or Illustrator? It’s actually super easy and you can do it in seconds without advanced graphic design knowledge.
I’m sure that there are several methods for doing this, and if you spend a little time researching on the internet you’ll find some that might work even better.
I’ve found mine by googling the “svg editor free” 🙂 Obviously it’s free and online based, so all you need is access to the internet and some icons in SVG format (all my packs come in SVG format)|
Step 1. Head to the Iconfinder Editor
Step 2. Open the icon in SVG format (If you opened the file and it’s corrupted please scroll down to the bottom of this post)
Step 3. Select the element you want to recolor (just click it)
Step 4. Change the color
Step 5. Save if you finished 🙂 Otherwise repeat step 3 and 4 until you’re happy with the result.
See? Told you it was easy ;) But to be sure it truly is super easy and everything… here are the screen shots:
Step 1. Don’t need the screen shot for that right? Iconfinder Editor
Step 2. Open the icon in SVG format
Step 3. Select the element you want to recolor (just click it)
Step 4. Change the color
Step 5. Save if you finished 🙂 Otherwise repeat step 3 and 4 until you’re happy with the result.
Hope that helped!
Sometimes the Iconfinder SVG Editor seems to mess up the icon, if it’s the case please use the https://www.vecteezy.com/editor instead.
